Culture shock at its best for clothing styles, jokes, and just plain talking. So afraid I'd mess up when I talked. Such an upheaval for me. sm wileygreen1(at)yahoo(dot)comsharon mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10130208778591424260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-74665327386963870202014-10-09T12:47:38.327-04:002014-10-09T12:47:38.327-04:00Oh yes, I have read such a diary, my Grandmother&#...Oh yes, I have read such a diary, my Grandmother's in fact. She lived through 2 WW's and their subsequent occupations. Her education stopped at age 9 but she pursued knowledge with a thirst unimaginable until she passed away at age 93.
Raelene and I have a few common points not the least, our parents moved us across an ocean to a new world. In answer to question # 3, it was the biggest change in my life and altered said life in ways you couldn't phantom.
I am getting older now, wiser perhaps but often regretful. Home is where the heart is...
Connie is spot on: Colonial America is fascinating. Whom ever thought the US poor in history?!
Blessings,
Noelle the dreamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07805639450753772211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-29632821748402719572014-10-09T08:30:51.571-04:002014-10-09T08:30:51.571-04:00I LOVED this post! Colonial America fascinates me....I LOVED this post! Colonial America fascinates me. I have not ever read a journal or diary from the past, other than "Diary of Anne Frank" or other novels based on diaries. I don't know how old Raelene is supposed to be but she seems very mature in her thoughts and writing.
The biggest change I ever made in my life was 10 years ago when we left our home state and most of our family and friends to move to Maine to be closer to our then-only grandchild. We moved with no job waiting, which was the boldest thing we have ever done as a couple. The biggest and hardest change was leaving our parents, and since we have moved two out of three of them have passed. That is the hardest thing. But we felt called and enabled by God to make the change and we have clung to that through the difficult times.Connie R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12038621934457678475noreply@blogger.com
