Even Memorial Day and Fourth of July have been turned into buy-more-bigger-and-better events.Donna Schlachterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10813998101356313145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-91574031000090501642021-05-30T22:35:31.296-04:002021-05-30T22:35:31.296-04:00Nice post, Donna. i recently read about the histor...Nice post, Donna. i recently read about the history of Mother's Day and found it interesting how much it has been commercialized, when it started with a simple purpose, to honor mothers for their hard work.Kathleen Rouserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12230409554080446106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-46911620798260445262021-05-29T12:49:03.019-04:002021-05-29T12:49:03.019-04:00My pleasure, Marilyn. Hype and commercialism certainly change what should be a day of memories into one that creates a feeling of guilt if you don't do the right, big, bright thing. Hopefully mothers can teach their children to ignore the hype and focus on gratitude or at least acknowlegement of one of their first life mentors.Connie R.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12038621934457678475noreply@blogger.com
