It's interesting that this disaster was also due to a captain's poor judgment. One could argue that the Titanic suffered a similar fate! And Captains are the ones who should know better. Notice, too, that like the Titanic, this Captain had boasted that God himself couldn't steer better! (Moral of the story:Don't tempt God!)
