She is 87 and even remembers his number because she had to write it on the letters. My husband also has some pictures of family members that participated in WW2, both here in the US and over in Europe.<br />My husband and son and daughter in law reenact WW2. We have a diary of my husband's g...Fascinating. We have a diary of my husband's great-aunt. She and her sister kept house for their brother and they all for a time lived in a tent in the oilfields in Southern Illinois. Her descriptions of day-to-day life never once mentioned the war. We also have a variety of items from eras past because we enjoy family history. We even have a rock that my husband's great-uncle used when he planted fields of seeds. The rock is flat and has a hole bored in it. It was attached to the back of the plow. When seeds were planted the rock pushed the soil over the top and covered them. it sits in our flower garden in warm weather.
