They're rather overshadowed by the Harvey Girls, but can you imagine the adventures they must have had!Linda Farmer Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08312511857601369355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-72970856883339479642013-07-28T23:28:24.904-04:002013-07-28T23:28:24.904-04:00Hi Jackie, thank you. I can remember when we would decide on a day trip early in the morning and think nothing of being out the door in 30 minutes and get back at midnight. You might enjoy reading my March 27th entry - http://christianfictionhistoricalsociety.blogspot.com/2013/03/hospitality-southwest-style.html - about them and then the post added by Cynthia Hickey, who posts on the 3rd. of each month. I love the Southwest and all the ares of traveling in there. When I was growing up in Lovington New Mexico and we'd return to Arkansas for vacation, they all thought we lived in a foreign country. They asked all kinds of questions about travel conditions, roads, and wanted to see our maps. Even today, the New Mexico Magazine has a page at the end of the issue called "One of our 50 is missing". It talks about people still think NM is a foreign country. Have a blessed day.Linda Farmer Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08312511857601369355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-24838329144197533202013-07-28T05:56:13.892-04:002013-07-28T05:56:13.892-04:00Now that was very interesting about the Old West a...Now that was very interesting about the Old West and methods to expose it to tourists. I like reading about anything "Harvey Girls" and this is a new twist with ladies driving, touring, guiding and repairing roads, cars, etc. sharon, CA wileygreen1(at)yahoo(dot)comsharon mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10130208778591424260noreply@blogger.com
