The castles were beautiful and fascinating. History surrounding all this wealth and beauty was not pretty. Reading about families battling families who live within walking distance of each other who constantly battle pretty much to the death for decades just breaks my heart. I know they're defending their homes but all the murdering and plundering is awful. And reading about how the castles were set up is so fascinating! Thanks for a great post! kam110476https://www.blogger.com/profile/01693696612437738986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-5992364172820025522013-07-08T20:23:29.047-04:002013-07-08T20:23:29.047-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Janalyn Voigt, escape into creative worlds of fiction.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16233710536302581735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-75412839120694062092013-07-08T20:22:23.156-04:002013-07-08T20:22:23.156-04:00That's why we need a Savior. That's why we need a Savior.Janalyn Voigt, escape into creative worlds of fiction.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16233710536302581735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-38968720740128844432013-07-08T20:18:55.823-04:002013-07-08T20:18:55.823-04:00It sounds like you may have seen a picture of cast...It sounds like you may have seen a picture of castle island. If not you really should search for a picture of it.

I agree with your point, Pam. It's such a boy thing! lol And honestly, it's all very fascinating, until you think about the human aspect of people experiencing the horror of being attacked, or being the attacker and having boiling oil poured down on you. Man's sinful heart sure brings about awful things. :(Bethanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04559934405090747046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-39379677839663700062013-07-08T08:59:41.013-04:002013-07-08T08:59:41.013-04:00Great stuff, Janalyn! Looked like the only way in was through a stairwell just above the water accessed by boat.

I couldn't imagine building something like that, nor living in it: In my mind, the very thing that is designed to keep invaders out can be the thing that locks you in. Yikes! :)Pam Hillmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08604636348596615139noreply@blogger.com
