We plan to go back to Italy someday and spend more time in Venice. I believe we were in Venice 4 days and it just wasn't enough time. It's so beautiful. And the Italian people are so friendly. I still have family that lives in Sicily though I don't know them. My great grandfather and his brother were stow-aways on a ship to get to America. Last name is Lisuzzo and I married a Costello so I guess it's no surprise I love Italy. lolDebbie Lynne Costellohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16381517812227326616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-58227105905859644862013-02-28T12:40:32.519-05:002013-02-28T12:40:32.519-05:00Karla, I thought I heard a revving sound! I'll go check out my website in a few minutes to see about the spy page--although I know just enough about computers to be dangerous. A mobcap was also called a mopcap and it's the white gathered cap women wore in colonial American times to protect their hair and keep it clean. Best wishes on winning a copy of The Chamomile. I was trying to pull up the page on your website about spies, but the page wouldn't launch!? I am not sure if it was an error on my side or not, as my computer(s) are quite old and I'm always knocking on wood I can read the sites that I like to frequent the most, such as this one!! :) Of course, RSS feeds help quite a heap, too! :) Laughs. Like you, I think one of my absolute favourites parts of being a writer is the research process!! :) One day I hope to live near a University, as it will open up more opportunities for research, as I can dig deeper into the sciences and humanties that make me so excited and eager to explore! :) I always lament to my friends, that I can lose hours in a few places: libraries and bookshoppes!! :) The bigger the better! :) Laughs. I could also contend walking out in nature allows one to absorb into the natural environs and one tends to forget what the current hour is, as your too busy enjoying what is unfolding right before you! :) Pure bliss! :)

I have been enjoying the past week {come morrow!} in reading everyone's introductions, posting notes to each of you, and getting geared up and ready for *March!* when everything at the CFHS starts to get underway! :) I'm eager for new posts and insights from each of you! The giveaways will be keen and nice, but long term, I look forward to getting to know more about the writers who populate this blog! :)

I am going to clickover to check out the horse guide for writers when I have the chance, because I'm a fellow equesterian at heart, and I always wondered how authors knew exactly how to convey life with horses as well as they do! :) I am sure most was either based on observation or research through books,... so my hat's off to you to be included in such a wicked project! :) What pray tell, is a mobcap!? I am hoping I might win a copy of your book, as I haven't yet had the chance to read a book by you! :) Congratulations on being included in the CFHS!! :) Cheers!Jorienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-69096065504393572012013-02-26T20:16:59.738-05:002013-02-26T20:16:59.738-05:00Nice to meet you to, Patricia. At least I know I won't be able to talk my sister into going. They have a fantastic ballon ride place near Asheville, NC, that takes you over the mountains during the peak of the leaf season. I had contacted Mr. O'Reilly for information for my novel, and during the course of an afternoon, he graciously stuck with me and answered all my questions. He's the most knowledgeable equestrian I know. When my book was published, I told him that I thanked him and the Long Riders in my acknowledgements. He asked me if I'd be interested in working with some Long Riders to compile a guide that would answer some of the most frequently asked questions by authors. I told him that I know nothing about horses, but I do know how I want my information to look when I'm researching. The project took off! We not only created the Guide, but also a dictionary of Western and European "horse" terms.Susan Crafthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00922171469364860239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-18198459082801690692013-02-26T16:22:43.243-05:002013-02-26T16:22:43.243-05:00Nice to meet you Susan. Funny how you had the mule ride at the GC and the Gondola ride as your bucket list. We'd planned to do the mule ride but after reading reviews on how much gas the mules had and how miserable the riders were we decided not to do it. LOL> Went to Venice and everyone said to make sure you take a gondola but when we got there it just seemed so commercialized we went and walked through the streets that no one goes on. So beautiful. We did buy gelati's every night while we were there. You have to get them. I have yet to have one in the US that tastes anything like they have in Venice.
