It was a way to thwart the enemy, the horses were so well trained. But someone saw the beauty in them and the rest is history. I also found it interesting how their skin is black when they are born but as adults their hair becomes white while their skin remains black. That's wild! I liked the picture you shared of the mother and foal as an example. I believe we saw the Lippizzan horses perform at the Virginia horse center in Lexington years ago. In years past my daughter had a paint pony then an Arabian who we had to unfortunately put down due to protozoan Myeloencephalitis. We gave him a going away party just like the one in the book of Misty of Chincoteague. Thank you for the chance to win one of your books! I understand you have some Tennessee Walkers. This is my favorite horse for the smoothest ride and gentle disposition. I once bought a pregnant 18 year old registered mare in order to get one of my own. Bought the mare from Lady Major whose horse farm once compassed Covenant Baptist Church property and a lakeside housing development off Liberty Highway, Anderson. I've always told folks that comparing a TN Walker's gait to say, a quarter horse's gait, is like comparing a Cadilac to a bumpy jeep. ( : However, for great form and stamina I've always loved Arabians and one plays an important part in my current inspirational romantic suspense, Summer of Deception, which is slated for a 2017 release by Prism books. I think you would enjoy getting to know Haidez, my hero Luke's Arabian stallion which lives at Barrett Hall plantation in Charleston.
Onward!
Elva Cobb Martin, Pres., ACFW-SC Chapter www.elvamartin.com

Elva Cobb Martin, South Carolinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09278744225513549876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4271375082145370896.post-89301012643191859982016-07-07T21:48:17.047-04:002016-07-07T21:48:17.047-04:00Oh Wow, Patty!
