Introducing Lena Nelson Dooley

I'm thrilled to be included on this blog with all these other authors. I have written both contemporary novels and historical, but the last four novels I've sold have been historical.

Living in North Central Texas, my husband and I have been married for over 48 years. We have two daughters, two sons-in-law, two grandsons, two granddaughters, one grandson-in-law, and a great grandson. They all live close to us, except our Army grandson, who is overseas right now.

We are a close family that has a lot of fun together. Our holidays are always fairly loud and boisterous, in a good way. We love good food, playing games, watching sports events, and attending church events.

I have a book releasing today. Catherine's Pursuit, book three in my McKenna's Daughters series. To celebrate the release of this book, my publisher is offering free downloads of the first book, Maggie's Journey, in ebook editions for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, and Sony ereaders. You can order the Free book from your favorite book site.

Maggie's Journey will be free from February 5-12. So tell all your friends.

Also, if you want a chance to win a free copy of Catherine's Pursuit, my publisher is hosting a giveaway on Goodreads:

I really look forward to continuing to connect with you readers on this blog.

And in March, my book, Catherine's Pursuit will be part of the giveaway for our grand opening of this blog.

  1. Welcome Lena, I am loving Catherine's Pursuit should finish it tonight or the morning.
Have loved the whole series. Im going to be in texas (Dallas Airport to be exact) In May for 4 hours.

  2. Hey Lena, your book covers are very pretty and they look good. Thanks for the head's up on your free book! God bless.

  3. Congratulations on Catherine's Pursuit.
Can't wait to read it. Such lovely stories by a lovey author.

  4. Jenny, wish we could meet, but if you're on a layover, I can't come to that part of the airport.

Chaplaindebbie, Charisma does a wonderful job on my covers, and I'm glad you got a copy of the first book as a free ebook.

Thank you, Patty. I'm missing seeing everyone. Next week we'll be back on schedule ... I hope.

    Janalyn, isn't that fun??!!

  5. Hi Lena, one of the things I miss about Austin is the CenTex Chapter of ACFW. I especially miss getting to see you from time to time when you meet with the group. I asked Jerry if we could make a flying trip to the March 16th meeting to hear your Layering Pizzazz presentation. But, alas, we can't. I'm consoling myself with Maggie's Journey, and loving it. Looking forward to Catherine's Pursuit.

  6. Good morning, Ms. Dooley! :)

I have you to thank for introducing me to this lovely new blog! It was one of the authors you showcased recently: Pam Hillman {also a member here!} who mentioned the CFHS! I clicked over immediately after I left her a note on the bookaway, finding that not only does this wicked sweet blog encompass one of my favourite genres: historical fiction(!), but its filled to the brim with wickedly engaging women who write passionately about their respective historical perspectives!! :) :) :)

I became an RSS feed subscriber today, and as I read through each introduction, I am leaving a welcoming note behind! I started at just past midnight and I've come full circle as its just past midnight the following day! :) Laughs. I will be a definite regular reader/commenter!

Blessings to you always! Glad to see that your going to be active here! :) :)
