You see five years before that I was in the bottom of a very dark pit. One which I had dug for myself in my own search for a father I never knew. Instead of turning to God, I went my own way down some very sordid paths, all of which ended in the same place: failure, depression, and disaster. I had tried everything the world said made a person happy and found it all to be smoke and mirrors. When I finally dusted off my old Bible and began to read, it still took months before this stubborn girl came to her senses, got on her knees and gave her life to God. And I've never been the same since!. Yet, isn't it just like God to take our mistakes, our failings and turn them out for good? All those years I spent away from him have given me a deep understanding of what unbelievers go through, how they think, what they are seeking and a firsthand knowledge of how empty and harmful sin is.
These are the people I want to reach through the stories God gives me. That's why God told me to write a story about a Christian pirate ten years ago. I thought I was hearing things. I had never written a full book before or ever sought publication. Nor did I have time to write. I worked full time and had 6 kids at home. But I obeyed. And The Redemption became the first book in my Legacy of the King's Pirates trilogy. Ten years and twelve books later, I'm still writing to glorify God. My books are wildly adventurous, swashbuckling tales filled with romance and the supernatural. One thing I'll guarantee, you won't be bored.
